Update: There was something wrong in the uploading process. The Localizor team is on it!
Upload is now the correct one!
As request context when I trying to translating on Localizor. Will I be answered? or is there any group I can join and chat to find out the answer?
Welcome to the forums. @Alexander Is probably the best to advise here.
Hungarian translation is 100% right now.
We need to work on proofing. How it is possible to see translations in the game?
In the settings menu you can change which language the game will use.
Could you help me where?
Thanks @Rubble, but I think to the new language (especially Hungarian) which translation just finished.
It will probably take a couple of weeks from a language being finished to implemented. What for the changelogs.
I thought there is a cheat to see unpublished language in the game to check translation.
Guys? @Alexander
I’ve not heard of anything like that
Hi! No there’s no cheat to do this but I could export language file from Localizor and have someone check it. Today, we need however a higher verified ratio to support it in a release. Do you want to be a moderator on Localizor I can add you to the hungarian list? What’s your localizor ID?
Hello! Thanks, my Localizor ID is the7up
And could you please export a language file? Thanks in advance!
You’re now a moderator I’ll convert the file for you so you can test it in-game.
Green = approved translation (it received enough “likes”)
Yellow = suggested translation (someone provided a translation, but it doesn’t have enough likes yet)
Guys! Think what you want about me, but the Russian translation shocked me. Stylistically executed is often nightmarish. Punctuation marks are often missing. While playing the game I come across phrases that “hurt the eyes”. Took up the translation and confirmation of the translated. One gets the impression that the translators were made by people who themselves do not play at Airport CEO, but only translate for the sake of bonuses on Steam. This is unfortunate, it can create a negative perception among Russian-speaking new users. Although, given the fall of the education system and the political course in the country to moribund the population, perhaps I exaggerate.
I often read the translated text, and moving away from the formal translation of words, I try to grasp the essence, and sometimes I cannot understand the meaning of what is written.
Tell me, what kind of event are you talking about?!
I’ve been inactive on Localizor for quite a while but I had a similar feeling when I was using it. Most people are translating correctly but sometimes bad translations slip through. Since anyone can contribute, the translations don’t always match in terms of quality, style etc.
I don’t want to sound like a hypocrite, because I didn’t contribute nearly as much as other translators, but I feel like Localizor doesn’t work that well. It can provide a great “base” translation but it needs a person that would check every single translation to ensure that the final product is consistent.
Didn’t see any problems with Localizator. He gives the opportunity to enter a translation from his knowledge, and provides a Google translate translation, the translation of which can be supported by approval, or make corrections and post. And what can be the change in the text you enter by the Localizer?
The problem in my opinion is this, there are several of them.
The person involved in the translation, in most cases, takes Google translation as the original one. Corrects a little, and places it as an option. Only often the meaning of a new user translated for the uninitiated into the nuances of the game is not clear. For example. The Russian version, which was translated by 96% and approved by 49%, was translated by 5-6 active participants.
I found translation options that were not yet approved, where each of them gave his own version of the translation. I tried to understand the meaning of the translation of each of them, and I did not understand anything! Those. in Russian, as for the meaning itself, they all turned out to be complete nonsense!
The next problem is that translators often forget to translate the meaning of the translated from machine language into understandable human language, typical for native speakers, i.e. do not take into account the specifics of their own language, make the translation unreadable and awkward.About commas, other punctuation marks, I generally keep quiet.
It gets ridiculous. In some cases, I see two options for translation, one gives Google translate, and the other gives a person, I read the meaning of the translated one and understand that Google did better! The person simply took the Google translation and made it worse by making various mistakes and inaccuracies. But you may argue that the translation version must be approved by several votes, and frankly idiotic ones will not get into the game. No matter how it is!
Right at the beginning, when I started playing Airport CEO, I saw a lot of idiotic translations and stupid mistakes.Take, for example, Anna’s letter at the beginning of the game, which is translated by “robot”, although it should be a parting word and motivate the future CEO to get involved in the pursuit of a nomination, and for this there should not be a mechanical translation by Google.
Even the peron bus is named differently in the game at different points.
Yes, the platform itself is functioning correctly. But the system of several people translating creates inconsistent results (like the bus you mentioned).
I think a solution would be to nominate someone as a quality assurance translator (probably someone with the highest amount of likes), who would have special privilegies. This would allow him to correct any mistakes without having to wait for others’ approval.
