Airport CEO Alpha 32 released (The Turnaround Update)

Did you fix the loading issue with 32.6-3? Loading any save completely breaks the save. Almost all buildings disappear, walls vanish, some windows, bus station, subway and car parks all gone.

I did send a ticket, but don’t have the # handy.

I haven’t tried loading a game with 32.6-4 yet. Gonna do that now.

Yes, -4 fixes the loading issue!

Yes all good! Thank you.

Is it safe to turn on de-icing again? I have everything ready including all the trucks, only I turned it off in the main panel before the fixes.

How are you guys handling bugfixes between the 2 versions currently online (31 and 32)? Are they getting fixes separately (i.g. 31 receives a fix but bug continues in 32) before you guys “merge” everything down the road?

Yes, -3 had several important updates for de-icing so you should be safe to turn it on again. Please do so and if you want, bug report anything that breaks! But should be a lot more stable now than the original 32.6-0.

We have one git repo branch for each live version on Steam. So for the default version of Steam we have a master git branch, experimental has an experimental branch and same for for internal. On top of that we have separate feature or bug fixing branches for more long-term development.

Right now it’s a bit hectic, maintaining two different versions at once that still must share the same fundamental bug fixes - more specifically Alpha 31 fixes must be carried over to Alpha 32. So we currently develop on the main branch and deploy from it onto the default branch for all Alpha 31 updates, we then merge in the contents of the master branch changes into the experimental branch and deploy Alpha 32’s unique bug fixes together with the merged content from Alpha 31 onto the experimental branch.

Yes, in normal cases you’d have a whole release team dedicated to doing this kind of release management… but we’re indie, and we’re quite agile and not too terrible at IT, which allows us to handle this ontop of everything else we do!

I’m happy to answer any other questions about the development process and the tooling we use. It’s also really integral that when you’re a small team, have a lot of automated systems, such as the bug reporting tool. So yeah, a lot to talk about and I should stop now before anyone falls asleep…

Its very good to see you’re also enjoying yourself at work

So we experimental-stickers can expect 31’s bugfixes too when they roll out, as well as 32’s, i had the feeling i had to wait out a bit longer for older bugs to be fixed. Well, nice job!

Not sure why, but was unable to laod a saved game with the patch,… The jnly way was to go to the good old standard rather than the experimental…

Is cleaning and catering eventually planned for small aircraft? Obviously would require different trucks that don’t attach to the aircraft as is done with medium aircraft.

Hello Guys!
So, I have the same issue, as some other folks here. Since the deployment of Alpha 32 I cannot continue my old airport as after loading the game crashes and jumps to Windows without any error code or message or log file.
Today I’ve downloaded the new 32-6-2 version in the hope of solution, but the problem still occurs. I’ve done Olof’s recommendation and checked the game’s integrity in the Steam application, everything was fine, but still, the game crashes just after loading.
And to make it even more complicated, I can start a new airport without any problems.
Please help me resolve this issue! Thanks a lot

Is it just me or has everything gotten cheaper ingame?

Some things, and other things are still the same price on the tabs, but not when you build them…

De-icing remains severely broken. This is a pileup of over 30 planes. The temp is above 0° C, so de-icing is not necessary… Meanwhile, the de-icing truck is safely tucked away in a vehicle depot. Yes, I’ve submitted several bug reports concerning this broken functionality. The Debug menu, Reset Aircraft Paths doesn’t clear them. Save/Reload doesn’t work. Even deleting the Pad doesn’t remove them.

Of course, this pile-up has caused dozens of delays and late flights.

Since the taxiway path doesn’t extend through the de-icing pad, when not active aircraft cannot proceed through. Need to have the pad as a secondary path usable only during cold weather. =\

Also, if you use multiple pads aircraft don’t account distances, etc. I have GA west of a runway, and Commercial east of it. All my Commercial flights taxi down the runway to go to the pad on the far side, and all the GA flights do the same in the other direction. =| Granted, I also had to disconnect the second pad and taxiway path to even have them recognize it’s presence.

@Goob, first, welcome to the community. Thanks for your info, but you are incorrect in your assumptions. The taxiway DOES extend through the Pad on both sides. Therefore, when it’s cold, the Pad is used by the planes as it should.

@dallas think you should try separating the icing pad from your taxiway. Place the icing pad parallel to your taxiway and connect it making a sort of ring-road.

@ilios21, the Main taxiway IS PARALLEL; it’s not in the image.

Here ya go, lads. Click to embigginate!

Did you reset aircraft paths in the debug panel? I can only achieve that pileup doing that.

No
and here’s some random text because this forum requires > 5 chars .

Question: on alpha 32, does anyone have trouble building on floor 3?

Or we are currently only meant to be in floor -2, -1, 0, 1 & 2 only, but we can see floor 3 as a roof?

@JonnyT only -2, -1, 0, 1, 2
