Airport CEO Alpha 36 released (The Emergency Update)

I can’t seem to figure out how contract negotiations work, do you mind telling me how to do that?

@Jet, go to the Vendors’ windows (airlines, contractors, catering, fuel, etc). If a vendor icon is yellow, you can negotiate with that vendor.

Click the yellow icon. A window will popup displaying the contract, as you’ve seen before. In the lower left corner of the contract is a yellow “Negotiate” button. Click it… Another window will popup, which contains a slider. Use this slider to alter the cost of the vendor’s service/products. There may be two sliders for some vendors. As you alter the slider, a color bar and text at the bottom will indicate the probability of success at that price. Above that bar may have -/+ Negotiation Points. Click the + to improve your negotiations.

Finally, submit your offer. Submitting an offer when the probability is “Questionable” or “Risky” is a bit foolish. Ensure the probability is “Reasonable” or better. A few moments later, the offer will be Accepted or Declined.

You may perform negotiations with any vendor icon that is yellow.

Hey guys,

Long term gamer but first time poster. Having been playing this game since it began its Alpha journey is certainly exciting!

Firstly Great work on the emergency release - I know it’s Alpha but it’s fun!

I currently have a couple issues I have -

  • Every time when I load an airport it shuts a couple of my gates automatically
  • Animals are never killed even though they wander across my tarmac and right across my patrol
  • Too many power surges - I am getting annoyed that I have a power surge almost daily in my airport
  • Baggage handle action is always disabled upon loading the game requiring me to manual activate it
  • Pathfinding - some of my pax and employees still have issues with pathfinding and going to the right place while other pax and employees going thru the same route seens just fine

And since I know you’ll iron out the performance issue (which is still significant on my end) I won’t elaborate it too much.

That’s it for now - I’ll share anything if known

Cheers!

Michael

Hi and welcome.

Does this happen when you start the game and load your savegame or only when you save, and reload the game without leaving?
I do have this issue only in the second case.

I was stung with 4 of them and it basically crippled my airport. One of them won’t show as completed and none of the check in machines worked until I replaced them all. As you can see I had 3 of the 4 surges in 3 hours. I don’t mind multiple aircraft emergencies as I have designed my airport to handle this on the hardest mode, but any issues like this one, or the toilets clogging should be limited to one at any one time.

  • ACEO-31659 - The new “beep” sound effect when boarding is not working correct for remote gates. The beep does not come when passengers pass the boarding desk, all the beeps come when the passengers leave the bus and enter the plane.

  • ACEO-31613 - The toggle for the bird strike prevention shows the wrong maximum when moving around. (127W instead 151W)

  • ACEO-31616 - Small aircraft leave the hangar not on the taxiway line and crash almost in to the wall.

  • ACEO-31657 - The auto planner plans flights deep in to the night-blocked time. They arrive just before the night block starts. At some point it’s nice to have a bit tolerance but maybe not more than 50% of the ground time should be in the night-blocked time.

  • ACEO-31612 - Could you please re-locate the tower icon in the construction menu? Currently the tower is at the first position and all other operation related infrastructure stuff at the end. It would make the search easier when the tower is at the same location as the other stuff like radars etc.

I have the same problem…

@devs could you highlight the current chosen speed level a bit more? Only when paused, it’s red.

Or maybe the power surge should affect only several items, not the whole airport. I think breaking every single machine is a bit extreme.

And there needs to be something to mitigate this–for example, building a transformer station or something. Surely most airports (even the small ones) have some form of transformer station nowadays…? Then the repair has to take place at the transformer station (or if it doesn’t exist at the airport–yet–then all machines actively used at the time of incident need to be fixed).

Did this update make fencing a relevant thing? Because if there’s a fox or a bear lingering in the fuel depot and the driver has to pop out to pee… you’ve got a big problem on your hands…

If something like this happens… part of the managing the emergency incident should involve contractors who can dump 50 service technicians on a job site with a single phone call.

Fences stop animals from getting in your perimeter. The animals can block aircraft taxiing. If animals get stuck in your fence after you build it, you can just reload and the animal will be gone. This was before I built a fence. The animals actually created so much backlog that nearly every aircraft was delayed due to being one taxiway.

Animals will also dissappear after a while so they shouldn’t be stuck in your fences forever

Wow… I think it’s time to start completely over. Fencing and the new necessity for service road connections for the hangars… and the fire departments and the police patrols that I have to make on my own… I can’t have the spaghetti bowl of noodles now for service roads… It’s gotta be more deliberate from the beginning.

I still wish we had survey markers for this game.

BlockquoteHmmm. The only entrance to my airport without climbing fences is the road. And yet I had a land animal.

Perhaps the animal was on the inside when you built the fence? /wink

They should not hide in the trees anymore at least. Build a fence before starting anything is my advice.

Does anyone know what those orange numbers below the vehicle type are about to tell us?

Probably capacity.

Any particular reason that all three of my aircraft non-airworthy repair jobs are stuck at 33.3% they didn’t start at the same time. The hangars hadn’t been built prior to the emergency, because of some small broken airport design reasons, but now they’re acting like ATM for my airport… but… it feels like groundhog day.

bug submitted in case it is… ACEO-31690. Also, can’t dismiss the aircraft or power the hangar down to cancel it out.
