Do you have night flights on?
I’d love that. Would be even better if players could additionally choose the color for each zone. ![]()
What about some random people still looking for a check in counter just to add some “life”? Let’s say a random chance of 10% per passenger (or, if we want to separate it, make it 5% for domestic flights and 20% for international).
@Olof and @Rubble, well spoken, good sirs. Well spoken indeed. Our mutual goal within the Experimental community is to find bugs that the internal group missed, report those bugs, and see them fixed. Hopefully, our brethren in the Default community will be spared the most egregious problems.
As an application developer with over 50 years in the business, and hundreds of applications developed, I know how important getting the most eyes-on an application can be to find errors. Especially important for so complicated an application as ACEO.
I made the mistake of enabling the realistic international flight option and hit the load freeze issue like others have stated. After killing and restarting the game, I found that the option was disabled when I clicked in the menu. But I still kept having the load freeze regardless. Even if I enabled the option again, the checkbox was still blank on the subsequent return to the setting menu. This issue persisted through several attempts to load a game.
I ended up having to opt out of the experimental release on Steam and then opt back in to fix the issue. Lesson learned on that one. Gonna keep that option disabled for now.
Software development is filled with trade offs and this is one of them. I get that it’s difficult to understand why we sometimes make the decisions we do but it’s all because of structural and architectural trade offs, we see all of the limitations you don’t. I don’t have any immediate news for this feature but we’ll keep watching your feedback and see what we can do at a later point.
I still don’t know why I can’t quote like you guys do. Either I don’t know how or I don’t have the option.
Regardless. Oh I totally understand that you guys have to do what you have to do on the code side. I am just voicing the frustration on the builder/designer/customer side of it. But thank you for listening and considering our input as always. Thats why I love this game. You guys are awesome. Keep up the great work! ![]()
If i may suggest, the thing that bugs me. Is that when ever i select an object, like seating or a plant, it turns on the zone layers, and yes they are way to strong.
Personally when i build i use the grid and sometimes flooring as reference. But the zones layers covers all that. So 9 of 10 times i have to turn it off again. Only need it when building security or passport i guess.
I see two solutions.
- Turn off automatic layers on when building an object.
- Put in the slider of transparency.
@Olof
Would you consider removing the dependency of the flight origin/destination in the advanced international mode? As the player cannot have any control about if the plane comes/goes to the own country or not. This is more a restriction than a feature and forces the player of small country airports to make a 100% international zoned airport.
Because even small flights are never come from or go to the own country.
This can also be a compromise for those who playing in a small country and try to build (yes, I have to name it again) a Schengen area type of airport and using airlines from the workshop to make it more realistic.
Why?
That would give the players more variations how to design the airport and they can re-build their own local airports more realistic. I guess many of the “advanced setting” users will use mods from the workshop and try to use only airlines serving that airport.
As example we can then build:
- a terminal which is declared as non-international containing all types of stands
- a full international terminal which allows a mix of all stand types and not only the large one as in the default easy mode setting.
The player can then decide by him/her self what airlines will serve which terminal and imagine then the “Schengen” or whatever area. (without looking at the origin/destination of the flight as this is too random)
thanks
I have not tried it yet mate but can you paint two terminals in to one building like split down the middle - so you can have international flights on the left and then domestic flights on the right so you have international passengers going through the immigration set up and other going straight through to baggage collection.
I know the destinations of the planes won’t match but will it will look correct.
So far the only domestic flight route I’ve been offered from my UK airport is large aircraft, because it seems to think Luton is in Amritsar
Had the same issue yesterday. You have to close down all affecting stands before you switch the “realistic international stands” option, otherwise the stands still remain international. Sometimes you need to switch twice until the stands change back to domestic, so you should check every single one.
After that save the game and restart ACEO. I got rid of the freezes that way.
No, it’s a global setting for the whole airport. Terminals do not solve the issue that when you activate the advanced mode, that all flights with a destination outside the chosen airport country do require an international gate.

One feature much requested I think it is the possibility to switch the entrance and the exit in the getaway
Yeah, i agree with this. There will always be some people that aren’t good with machines, or that prefer the human touch and will opt for the manned counter hehe.
Stop the automatic connection between a newly-built Boarding Desk and the nearest Stand. Let the player make that determination.
I just lost all flights for two Medium Stands because this “feature” connected the Desk to a nearby Medium Stand; I suffered a hit on my approval rating. I needed to connect the Boarding Desk to the correct remote Large Stand.
Please make this correction in experimental vers1.35.3. This bug, I mean, “feature”, has been around for a number of iterations and infests the Default version as well.
In this image, I tried to force the pax to use the Walkalators by blocking the sides at the entrances with walls. Worked for awhile. Then, it didn’t. So, now these twits are stuck. Without the walls, the pax ignore the Walkalators entirely.
EDIT: even after I removed the walls, they never moved. We need another job to hire: Hitman. Click on a pax. The hired Hitman terminates him, with extreme prejudice. LOL. Just kidding…or am I?
I believe the ACEO Modding Group needs a few more tools now.
Maybe along with the Airline the modder should be able to add a txt file with country origin and all possible flight destinations (provided by the community/wiki/etc.).
So if I choose London as my location and add BA as a customer, I would get offers from BA for all the places they fly to from London. If I add Delta I would get flights from New York but not Denver (because the modder will not have added in the txt. file a DEN-LON-DEN flight, though the player could enter the txt file and alter it). And if I choose Pegasus Airlines, I would get no offers at all.
Note that I use LON and not LHR or LGW since in the starting map you choose city not airport
Official flight routes might be a bit too much as they change every day a bit. But country of the airline would help a lot to define if it’s their base airport or not and if not, from/to what country they offering flights to your airport. So that your Delta will at least only offer you flights from London from and to the US. But if your airport is in the US and the country of the airline is US, then it changes to offer more flights from/to other countries.
I think, they should only add bases, not destinations, because there are a an infinite number of destinations a bigger airline flies to and it would give no improvement.(So if I have an airport with no current scheduled flights in real life, I would not get any flights ingame neither)
If you only add bases, that could be long with Delta, Wizz, Ryanair, etc but it would be a maximum 50 list as I don’t think that there is an airline with 50+ bases. So in this case, you’ll get Wizz flights from these cities: (+Wizz UK from LON)

And if you have the contract with them, you’ll be able to get flights from these places. But if you have your airline in a city which Wizz has a base, they will fly to anywhere.
And btw Pegasus serves LON (STN) once or twice daily in normal circumstences
Personally I think a compromise solution would be useful. I know from bug hunting conversation that the flights offered and routes will be looked at as things get smoothed over with the A35 development and they will then begin to balanced more. I would also like the ability too as others had said to define more in our modding files such as how many planes there are. Where located etc.
Should be doable without breaking any prior save integrity too.
