It explicitly tells you it is in different zones.
Try to zone a secure zone over the shuttle bus stops.
As one can see from my last image, they’re all in Zone 2.
@TheAviator: as a last ditch effort, per your idea, I constructed a new Shuttle Bus Stop, and I can connect to it. It is also in Zone 2.
The one I was trying to connect to was an existing, version 1.34 airport. Apparently, vers 1.35 does work and play well with older versions for some very specific instances.
Thanks to all. Onward…
Oh, and yet another one. This is an oldy, but a goody. Been around for a year or so. Still not fixed.
Just built a new Medium Boarding Gate. Tried to connect it to one of those two Large Stands I mentioned before. Can’t do it. Why? Because game automatically connected it to a nearby Medium Stand. If I try to connect to the Large Stand, it tells me all flights for the Medium Stand will be cancelled. Of course, the Medium Stand already had a Boarding Desk I built a long time ago.
And yes, the problem is in the Default branch as well. Yeah, so this “feature” is acting as designed.
Then don’t subscribe to the experimental branch and wait for it to come out on the default branch. This is what the experimental branch is for…
Yeah, @twocflyer is right. You can’t just ask everyone for help for something that isn’t fixed. I am getting enraged right now about this matter. If you can’t handle the privilege of getting first but with bugs, then don’t do experimental. Now excuse me, as I got to get myself a spot of tea
Oh, whatever, lads. I’m simply pointing out bugs which is what Experimental is all about. Some things, such as the very bad vehicle path-finding have been about for years, in Default as well.
As for being enraged, @Blackout…This thread is to discuss problems and solutions for Experimental vers 1.35, which I’ve been doing. @TheAviator, @Andy,and @ShadowFlyer have made those suggestions. Please confine yourself to that.
EDIT: @Blackout, I see you removed your “I’m enraged” comment. Did you get that spot of tea you also mentioned? Quite calming, tea is.
You do it in a slightly aggressive tone, that’s all sir. Also, yes, I did get my spot of tea. Quite splendid if I do say so myself.
QuickQuestion for @Olof regarding Airport CEO. Do you have a brother that runs a deicing fluid supplier company, or did they spell your name wrong on the paperwork? Or perhaps after a famous snowman.
Also, if they spelled your name wrong, why did they make it only 2 stars and not 6 stars?
Is there a limit on how many people can check-in at a self boarding desk like the original check in desk is 75 @Olof?
Thank you everyone for your extensive testing and bug reporting! We have loads of data now to work on the issues you’ve discovered and will be back with updates starting next week, prioritizing the most critical ones ranging from stalled contractors to duplicate zones and loading issues caused by special settings. We try to avoid working on weekends but I couldn’t keep myself from checking in on how you’re doing and when reading through your comments and discussion I feel that I need to provide some input.
This is an experimental build in it’s early stage of an early access game, featuring an update with loads of fundamental changes to core systems as we’re, just like with the multi-floor update, again expanding the dimension of ACEO by enabling multiple terminals and a new zone type. With fundamental changes comes fundamental bugs that drastically impact your testing experience. Here’s my advice: If you encounter a bug that fundamentally disrupts the fun of the game and joy of playing, report that bug and then shut down Alpha 35. Revert to the default branch with a different save, play a different game or do something else. Wait until we’ve addressed the bug and deployed a few improvements and once you feel like it could be fun to get back into testing, feel free to do so. There’s no point in trying to work around these types of fundamental bugs as they can only be properly addressed by us and we don’t want you to ruin the experience by “forcing through”. The more deployments we do, the more stable Alpha 35 and as you may have forgotten both Alpha 29 and Alpha 31 had fundamental changes with very unstable experimental releases but eventually became mature enough for the default branch. So will Alpha 35 and Alpha 36 and a long beta period with focus on bug fixes, gameplay fixes and performance optimization. As we’ve written in may places before, the development strategy right now is to make the base game “feature complete” so that we can more quickly get to a stage where a ruthless beta period will allow for extensive changes without having to take height and make assumptions and guesstimates for what future implementations would require.
I’d also like to mention that the purpose of this forum is for us all to have an accessible meeting place and discuss the development of ACEO. That discussion is best had in a friendly and constructive tone free of sarcasm and taunts. The entire point of our open development process is for us to collect feedback and discuss changes with all parts of the community but if that feedback is not constructive it makes it a lot more difficult. The absolute majority of the ACEO community does uphold these values which is why we as developers love engaging with you all and try to pay it back by implementing features we would have otherwise not focused on such as the international stand setting and passenger segregation. Hopefully we can continue on this path and keep the discussion here friendly and constructive.
That said, we look forward to coming back next week and start deploying updates so that Alpha 35, just like the rest of ACEO, will rise up to its true potential.
I thought that was the rate per persons onboard aircraft. I thought it wasn’t a limit, just a certain amount of checkin-desks.
FOR EXAMPLE:
747-400 Swiftly has 476 passengers boarding
476 divided by 75 = 6.34666666667
Of course there is a remainder so just add it to another check-in desk
Check In desks= 7
My apologies to this community. Thank you @Olof. As punishment for my crimes I shall not be on this forum for a week. Goodbye until then!
Also, I shall not play Airport CEO during that time. Sorry everybody for the way I have acted. Hope you enjoy me gone.
Noone has committed any crimes and needs to leave the forum!
It’s natural for discussions to get a little heated when you’re dealing with passion projects, we just want to remind you all that the more we stick to friendly and constructive feedback on Alpha 35 bugs and features, the more effective we’ll be at getting stuff fixed!
That said, let’s try to get back on topic .
It’s kind of like of one of those situations where you know you did something wrong, but the teacher just says, “some people did it.” @Olof is the teacher, and I am the student.
I keep an eye here on pretty much everything. I’ve not seen anything untoward apart from frustrations and general frustrations. These are Alpha builds and yes, things don’t work. They break. Shouting, screaming at them something is very helpful. However, I’ve not seen anything to disturb the peace for a while. Keep playing, keep finding and reporting those niggling little bugs and the team will get on top of them.
EDIT: I did see that. It’s general player frustrations. nothing more. It happens every game.
EDIT 2: Lord knows. I’ve rage quit many times and many games.
This change is due to the fact that we get multiple bug reports every day in regards to people not correctly identifying what types of zone they have used. The previous opaque zone’s appearance was heavily influenced by what floor type was underneath it (since the floors greatly vary in color type and strength) which causes zones to look very different depending on what floor they are placed on top of. People who don’t care about flooring never discover this, but we who interact with “the silent majority” of players via the backlog have seen this issue a lot.
We can easily add a slider for players to themselves decide what opacity level they want the zone at, but it’ll default to 100% due to the above mentioned issue.
Software development is filled with trade offs and this is one of them. I get that it’s difficult to understand why we sometimes make the decisions we do but it’s all because of structural and architectural trade offs, we see all of the limitations you don’t. I don’t have any immediate news for this feature but we’ll keep watching your feedback and see what we can do at a later point.
I agree, that has been overlooked.
Baggage drops can handle four different concurrent flights and the system will always try to book baggage drops before check-in desks as they are more efficient (since there’s no need for silly humans activate them). Thus, if you have four flights that all require three check-in desks and you have placed three baggage drops, all flights will be served by those. If you only have two baggage drops, an additional staffed check-in desk for each flight will be booked to compensate (and so forth…).
“Today has been a very bad day. A few more days of this and we will be bankrupt.” So relatable today. I am not going to say anything because of the terms and conditions, but let’s just say I can’t go anywhere, and I am infected.
EDIT: IDK why I said terms and conditions, thought it sounded more proper though.
It’s a very difficult time for most of the world. Know that the Dev’s are able to continue to develop and move the game forward with little restrictions as we are all able to work remotely.
Stay as well as you all can.
