Airport CEO Alpha 33 released (The Big Bird Update)

May it depends on the terminal. But where we arrive from ZRH, I was after leaving the plane back where the departure duty free area is. Escalator down goes the to passport control and baggage claim.

Reason could be because of the hand luggage check which happens after duty free before enering a small dedicated gate area. In case you have a connection, your handluggage will then be checked again.

I checked.
You have to leave the secure area in 1A to get your baggage.

I also asked a staff member and he confirmed.

The dedicated gare area as you call it is the secure zone, the duty free area in SIN is behind immigration but no secure zone because passengers are not scanned yet. But in the end it doesn’t really matter, does it plus it’s getting a ittle off topic. I think we now have a common understanding how the whole system works in most places, exceptions granted, but the devs have something they can work with now, if they didn’t already know.

There are a lot of posts so I’m not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but when over 500 expected PAX for boarding an A380, the PAX don’t appear to spawn. Flight monitor suggests boarding is complete however and the plane departs 1-2 hours early.

I haven’t had any ticket control for the past years in Shengen and outside of Shengen (Australia), though I get it printed every time just in case. It’s been boarding pass and scanning its code instead. Even during check-in it’s just the passport to get your boarding pass, whether at a self check-in kiosk or at a staffed check-in desk with baggage drop (or when checking in online - but there you just put its number and get boarding pass to print or display on mobile). The ticket is in the system and they’ll see you have it once you present your ID or your boarding pass. At 4 domestic terminals in Australia that I’ve been flying from, alternatively my passport or booking reference was used to print the boarding pass and baggage tags, then just the boarding pass at the gate - you could go to airside whether you are flying anywhere or not, and only at international the passport to go to the airside.

By the way, the passport control might be done after security when the terminal is divided on Schengen & non-Schengen gates, or domestic & international gates with shared security between them. At some airports, like Dubai, one security check isn’t enough, at least for some destinations - you can get another one at the gate.

In every ICAO member state you cannot enter the secure zone as a passenger without a boarding pass. It is either being scanned or visually inspected at the security checkpoint. Next time you fly pay attention to it and you will notice. I surely don’t have anything to say here but just note that this thread is supposed to be about Alpha 33. How about we move this discussion to a seperate thread!?

After a short testing period on the internal branch we’re now confident in deploying the overhauled path-finding system on the experimental branch as well, a long with a few other fixes. We’ll leave it there for the duration of the weekend and if everything remains stable it’ll then go on the default branch as soon as possible!

Release notes - Airport CEO - Version Alpha 33.7-2

Improvement

  • [ACEO-19040] - Overhauled path finding system to better accommodate multiple complex path requests and to avoid stalling path finding queue

Bug

  • [ACEO-19012] - Overhauled check-in desk allocation system to enable better load distribution and avoid issues with immediate closing at the time of opening for delayed flights
  • [ACEO-19234] - Wrong floor displayed in main panel when investigating object
  • [ACEO-19698] - Transit structure queue full warning displayed too often
  • [ACEO-19715] - Service vehicles force align trailers when parking at stand for baggage transfer
  • [ACEO-19739] - Wrong description text for cleaning and catering in turnaround progress monitor

Yup! I have the same. To be honest no one ever, despite my questions, answer to this. PAX spawn and you can see that they all arrived at airport, but the check-in doesn’t open. Are you on experimental?

Indeed the question which version you are on and on which branch? Could you @mbobojar @Sponge please share a screenshot of the check-inn desk area? Also please keep in mind that you need a check-in desk on every 75 PAX. Did you check the notification centre for errors around no check-in desks being available? Also maybe you can try to manually plan 1 A380 flight without any flights around it. I’ve had many A380 turnarounds and no issues with check-in, security or boarding so far, apart from having not enough desks.

If anyone else has this issue, please all file it as a bug report via the in-game bug reporter so the devs have multiple references and can hopefully find the issue. But please update to the latest version first and check/try the above to see if the issue is there.

I’m not sure I’ve answered yours specifically but I’ve answered that particular question many times. It’s caused by either one of these:

  1. Too few ways for pax to arrive to the airport, generally you need a few subway entrances to properly support a large airport. We will be increasing the number of vehicles over the next few versions as one-way roads now should allow people to better route their traffic.

  2. Check-in allocation problems, which have been greatly improved with the latest 33.7-2 update.

As @Puma suggests I think we’d need to take a look at a bug report or alternatively explore the issue you’re having in a separate support topic!

I will check that with new update.
But as I wrote it in post 435 and 521, I had no notification and all pax were at the airport. Staff arrived at check-in desk, waits until opening hour and then they just go somewhere else and check-in is closed.

This is one of the behaviors the new check-in desk allocation algo hopefully resolves!

Flights are not landing now ACEO-197641, unsure why, all gates are open

Had it too, there are nullrefs in the logs. After the bug report save and reload should help you further.
And it seems bug reports have jumped by 178000 cases overnight if you got that number. :joy:

Deploying a new update now for an anticipated fix of the flight issue, it’s a hotfix so it will retain the same version number.

Hmm, where’s the window mode in the Mac Version? After today’s experimental branch update my monitors go black when I start the game.

Hold the Option key when starting. But not sure why it would change.

No problem launching here, looks fine to me.

Holding Option key helped, it showed the menu for resolution, full screen etc again. Haven’t seen that in a while… :innocent:
