Over the past month I’ve been working on a large map in Miami, FL, USA creating a large international airport. To date, I have 4 runways (3 med, 1 lg), 28 medium stands, 4 large stands, no GA, and I have processed 25,384 Passengers, 10,412 bags, 132 med planes, and 8 lg planes according to my last operational report. I have been growing the airport slowly and encountering only a few rare delays, but I think the game engine is starting to have trouble keeping up. I’m going to keep pushing to see how big I can grow, but I’m starting to see increasing delays even though I have ample automated check-in and boarding desks, and large security check points. Sometimes the game wants to process the data and other times not. What is the largest airport you have been able to create before the game engine puts up the white flag?
My system is:
AMD RYZEN 5 3600 6-core 12 logical processors
32 GB RAM
I am currently in an extended sandbox map with 82 stands in total (10 GA, 11 small, about 18 large and the others medium) and I calculate with 250 flights per day (GA not included) but I do have to build the baggage system before I can tell how good it will work.
But currently when I run tests and increase the pax/flight ratio I get lags all few seconds. I think some CPU settings are wrong. Also remote busses sometimes do not depart and cause chaos.
So I will check that in the next days.
I play with the new large world map.
I’ve got normally between 45k and 55k PAX per day and around 350 flights with 16 large stands, 24 medium stands, 18 small stands, 18 GA and 2 large stands for emergencies.
For arrival and departure i’ve got each one large, two medium and two small runways.
When all stands are filled it’s only playable in slow mode, in fast mode the CPU needs 100% the hole time.
My Laptop is a Dell G7 7700 with a i7-10750H, 32GB RAM and a RTX 2070 SUPER.
With this airport design the cooling pad got melted cause of the high cpu temperature near 100 °C.
