Release is just around the corner and so I’ve been thinking more about this game. I think I’ve got a suggestion quite a view of us will like. A way to time-lapse record in game. I know some tycoon games that do this and I think it’ll be quite cool to sit back and watch your build process after a big airport. Obviously later on, and Idk if it is too difficult to implement, might be the case. Anyway what do you all think?
Isnt timelapse done in editing the video?
Can be but I have seen some games have it as feature, ie it records your game (if a setting is on, or if you click a button saying “start time-lapse” and then you go until you exit the game or press stop, and it outputs a file to your video directory. Obviously you can just use say OBS and just edit in the time-lapse. Just think it’ll be a cool feature. (NB: Obviously not a vital one)
Agreed, especially when you have, say 7 hours of footage and need to transfer it over to an editting software (grrrr). As a video editor, that alsways pisses me off when people give me footage that long.
BTW, (shameless plug) I think I’m going to do a cinematic video of AirportCEO. Whad’ya think?
I think it’s a good feature to add post-launch, but …
In the end, won’t most videos start the same?
Besides, you sorta could make a time-lapse already: screenshot every x seconds.
Yes, but you would have to screenshot from the exact same place every time. Otherwise, it would be a moving blur. Same reason, when taking a timelapse in real life, it’s better to have a tripod and stablizer.
Maybe take a screenshot from fully zoomed out every X seconds?
I think that is how a few tycoon/building games do it, every x mins it screen caps a fully zoomed out view then blends it together with other screenshots to create a timelapse looking video
Yes, but doing it, say, every 3 second makes it had to play the game.
(Note: even if you are doing it 3 seconds, it probably is too fast. 30fps, 90x speed)
Isn’t this also dependent on the in-game speed?
This is my first post here - very excited about this game, I have to say!
I think this idea would be like saving a replay in a sports game - the data of each individual click/action/movement would be saved, and then you could revisit that replay, viewing the progress at whichever speed/angle you choose. That way you wouldn’t have to use up loads of space saving videos and photos, plus you would have the liberty to focus on whichever part of the airport you so choose.
Hey there and welcome to the forums
The idea sounds nice, but it would not be practical since very small deviations in a replay could alter the result considerably
Warthunder does that… They’re silly and you can’t rewind them
