Yup, This is normal all Images should be jpg on this forum if im correct

yeah apple logos and things like that are copywritten

There is a free version of PS. It is just CS2, but it is good enough to make a nice looking logo.

A friendly reminder of the rules:
All external content must be 100% free to use commercially. If you are unsure, do not use! This is very important! We have seen some logos with copyright protected material and we will not be able to accept them because of that.
Note that you cannot copy images from Google. You must ensure they are free to use. Use a safe website like http://www.clker.com/ instead.
