SUGGESTIONS: Aircraft Models

I took a quick 20 minutes to make this list ready. Me, personally - I would LOVE to have all those different types in the A.CEO. I don’t think the workload to add all those types isn’t that big since esp in 2D you just “lengthen” or “shrink” the existing base graphic model and adjust the values of PAX, weights and their coded values of length, width etc.
They would add a great “longtime” value since it’s making the whole economy and construction very variable every airport you start again since you will face quite some “subsizes” which in the end add value like:

taxiway length for “waiting lines” must be accordingly longer/shorter
income through more PAX while not having to rebuild everything (since they could fit in the same existing box OR maybe not )
maintanance of runways should increase
runway length for a Boeing 737-700 is with basic load somewhat between 1.600-1.900m (T/O&L), normal Boeing 737-900 takes about 1.900 - 2.500m depending on TOW and LW
you also don’t look at like 7-8 different planes all day long…

I would definitely like a range of aircraft. It would be cool to see A380’s, A320’s 777’s etc but also smaller planes like ATR 72 & 42 and Bombardier Q400 or Q300. For a start you could see something like a cessna caravan or PC 12.

I think we need and will have a wide range of aircraft. At the start of the game you will probably only have small planes (Cessnas, Dash 8s, CRJs etc) and as the airport matures you’ll develop up to 737s, A320s before getting widebodies like the 777 and A380.

I’m not sure if the game will have real aircraft types and names or if the secs are going to/have to come up with new ones, but I’d encourage them to have a wide range available. At the very least, a good representation of the Airbus and Boeing range is essential, with highlights from the smaller manufacturers (ATR, Embraer, Bombardier). And I’m not even thinking about light aircraft and cargo if/when they come along.

But I think to retain some relevance the aircraft need to be slightly varied. There is little point in having a 737 and A320 if they’re both the same. Even though they’re similar in real life, they probably should have slightly different models and different passenger stats.

@me123 similar in real life? Haven’t heard that been said before, one you fly with the cables the other you fly through a computer so they are very different. We should have a small variety of aircraft from different companies (I prefer to use Airbus that boeing) and have the mods to come fill in all the other types. One aircraft that would be cool to have and I have watched land at faf fairford today is a B1

The Devs did mention they are bringing in retire planes. Would be nice if they can bring in as many planes to suit everyone. Maybe set an options list of what planes the players want in their airports. It would take time but also would be good to keep varieties open.

Retire: Concorde, 707,DC-10, DC-3
For modern day: 737,A320, A330, A340, 777, 747, A380, 767, 787, A350, MD-11, A300, 727, 757, Embraer, Lear and Bombardier jets.

Hopefully in the future we might see Freight versions too.

The A320 and B737 are similar in terms of what would matter in this game: i.e. the physical size of the aircraft, the capacity of the aircraft, the runway requirements, turnaround time etc. Of course, when you look at the planes in real life at any level of detail they are completely different but for a top-down 2D game there is the risk of them being simple duplicates, which adds little value. So if we’re going to have both, I’d hope we have different models and pay attention to the differences that are there to give a bit of variety.

A380 should probably be one of the last aircraft you can support though, because even now only the largest of airports can support it.

I personally like Boeing more than Airbus, but that might be because I live in near Everett.

Most Airbuses are pretty similar and the A380, for the most part, is almost too big.
