I always use 7 for runways, even the larger aircraft that are currently in the game will clip the stands when using 5 so I use 7.
I know it is an older topic but, found this. It seems this is a common issue to the point they need vehicle escorts on the service roads to make sure nobody clips a wing over on a service road.
Looks like some airports handle them better than others but it does hang over. I also never realized how much bigger the 777/747/A380 was compared to a 737 which I normally fly on. Wow.

Yeah, it can sometimes be difficult to know just how big a plane really is, as you often don’t have anything to properly compare it to.
One problem with that syphon, There are a bunch of models for the 707, 717, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777. I can promose you that the 737 max is bigger than you think! and where did you find this lineup?
@gronscott They do it for Founders day. Here is one from 2016 with the 787 in it. You can see how big the planes are and how they spill over the taxiway, at least at this airport…

Exactly! I only do 3 wide for all the taxiways, but I make sure that I leave enough space beside the taxiway for the wings to pass.
This is a scale relative to the 757-200, a 767-200. It’s the smallest wide body I could find. The others are quite a bit bigger. PS This is NOT a PS job. This is in-game.
Oh and it’s tiny compared to a 787-800 or the 747-800. Nine wide will NOT really enough, 13 would be comfortable. You really need to double it for wing clearance at a minimum. I’ve crude 787-800 and 747-800 running around my stands, taxi ways and runways.
