Cant see this as another topic (probably worded differently)… but I noticed today that the 737 is over running the runway on landing, I have the default short runway and the contract says that my airport satisfies the requirements but obviously not the runway! this may be bug or need added to the contract so that the runway length is taken into consideration… secondly they over run and just turn around and taxi… assume later in the game there may be some emergency services to add etc…
Yes this has been discussed before.
Overrunning runway occurs when running simulation speed above 1x.
It will be changed later.
tks for reply… it happens on any speed.
I agree, it does happen on any speed. I usually extend my runways at least 3 times and it still happens on any speed. It happens much more frequently on higher, but to say only on high speed is wrong.
I really feel like they should fix this issue soon.
I’m no expert, but the small planes don’t run out of runway, so can you not “program” the medium planes to do the same?
the medium planes actually want a much longer runway, they are already being “forced” to land short. for now we only have short runways. once longer runways are introduced, these planes will no longer be allowed to land on small runways i would assume. The issue isn’t planes over running the runway, the issue is that the runways are too short.
Check out that link paying attention to Runway Requirements.
tks for info… this then means that the contracts are erroneous atm… and that due to a having a short runway we should not be able to sign off until the runway meets the length required for the plane.
The reason for the (too) short runways, is realistic runways would mean a tremendous increase in space needed.
Even without unlocking any map parts the game can hammer your CPU hard. Let alone if players had more (official) room to build.
tl;dr; It’s (among other things) done for performance reasons.
