No planes landing after demolishing a stand on a fully functional airport (WORKAROUND FOUND)

I have had this issue multiple times in multiple run-throughs.

ATTEMPT #1:
I have a fully functional airport (progressed thru tutorial all the way to the tilt baggage thing) with four medium stands and four small stands. I decided to remove one of my small stands and replace it with a medium stand.

To do so, I closed the stand for a full day then, after the last flights had departed, I demolished the stand and bulldozed the service roads, cleared any zones in the footprint of the new medium stand and then placed the new medium stand. I made sure it had taxi nodes and was connected to the boarding desk. It showed up on the F flight planner and the auto scheduler dutifully placed some jets on the schedule. Watching the FLIGHT SCHEDULE at the top bar, I saw the initial flights EN ROUTE and the rest AS PLANNED. So far so good. But the planes never arrive. And when I looked back at the Flight Schedule every arrival is marked AS PLANNED.

ATTEMPT #2:
I reload the fully functional airport used in ATTEMPT #1 above. I follow the same steps but instead of placing a new Medium Stand I just extend the service road through the stand area, adjusting secure zones accordingly.

Same result. Incoming flights marked EN ROUTE but never land. Nothing queued on runway. Everything is repaired. No notices on the screen about lacking people, etc.

Appears to be a consistent, reproducible issue. Any ideas?

Could you post a screenshot? Maybe there’s a little mistake you made.
But be sure to file a bug report

did you set the runway to accept medium planes. Made that mistake myself :grinning:

Yep had been accepting medium planes for days. I’ve submitted a bug although the attachment function isn’t working there so will email him the before and after saves once I hear from him.

In this photo you can see I removed a small stand from my row of stands. I re-routed the service road successfully. My plan was to upgrade all the stands there to Medium but every time I try I get this problem.

It looks like that boarding desk was for the deleted stand. You have other desks for the new medium stands. Are they correctly attached? Try deleting the odd desk.

I had this problem, submitted a bug report a while back- assume people are not checking in either?

Right FOF. Check-ins stop, no flights listed at any boarding desk or checkin desk, etc. A few people check in for the earliest flights but they never arrive and are not on the boarding desks. One thought I had was what if I deleted all the flights in the flight planner BEFORE shutting down and deconstructing the stand. I’ll try that now. People pile up in the public area for flights but can never check in.

All the other boarding desks are fine, everything was working smoothly before the deletion. I’ll try deleting that stand but I don’t expect it to do anything.

IT WORKED!

WORKAROUND: Delete every scheduled flight for the stand you want to delete. Make sure for the entire week. Turn off the auto-scheduler obviously before you try to do that.

So the bug appears to be related to that.

Jibboo, is the problem then not that the autosceduler plans over the week-end?

Bug is not (as far as I know) related to the autoscheduler. It appears that if you destroy a Stand that has flights scheduled on it in the future, that causes everything to come to a halt - presumably around when the first flight is supposed to land for that stand. I just suggested turning off the autoscheduler since if you’re trying to cancel flights for a stand it might just reschedule them again.
