Should the aircraft’s be landing into wind as currently they only keep landing one way and that’s on runway 09. Even tho the wind is also blowing from runway 09 they are landing with the wind.
If I am not mistaken the active runway direction changes from time to time, but don’t know whether thats connected to the actual weather
I just know it makes for hilarious traffic jams.
I also have a feeling that they land from both directions however I not sure at all
Atm I always build a strip for taking off and one for arriving, that way the traffic jams at least have planes all leaving or all arriving and they will solve over time.
Well still same game-play and the active runways still haven’t changed. The aircraft’s will always takeoff from the same way regardless wind direction!
I’m pretty sure that this is actually not properly implemented yet, though it has been discussed a lot. I’m not sure what they plan to do with it, but I suspect it will come in when weather events are properly overhauled and sorted
It was implemented, but it was deactivated after it caused issues with the taxiway system. It probably should be changed so that wind shifts only occur at midnight or something, or allow one way routing.
Oh my bad! I’m hoping that the pathfinding gets overhauled such that one way routing isn’t necessary as much as just designing an efficient taxiway system is.
It will, once the final visual content pack for this round is implemented and released on Monday we will shift focus to improving existing functionality for (epics) path finding (mainly person (to improve performance) and aircraft (to improve logic)). It is, as you say, pretty stupid now.
Regarding the wind it is still “somewhat” implemented that they are landing with it but its heavily moderated, i.e. does not occur as it would in a real world but changes far less frequently. We will have to improve the weather simulation and the aircraft path finding before fully enabling it again so that the ATC don’t mess up your airport.
