It’s kind of weird. Say one half of the screen is just grass, and the other half is a large (completely empty) building. When zoomed all the way out, if the building is visible, my FPS drops massively. But when it’s just the grass (or stuff like runways, stands, taxiways) it is perfectly fine.
There must be some optimization issue here, right? A flat, unchanging texture like an empty building shouldn’t be affecting the FPS that much. Perhaps it’s the lighting inside?
It’s because of what the game has to draw, if it’s only drawing grass it will run quicker but when it’s having to move all the people around in your terminal and vehicles it’s bound to be laggy!
move all the people around in your terminal and vehicles
The lag occurs on a newly created map, with a completely empty terminal. Nothing but grass/roads on one side, and an empty medium-sized building on the other.
Updated all drivers? DirectX version? Close all background crap? Smaller resolution? otherwise I don’t know and I’m afraid you’re in need of a hardware update.
Pretty sure that everything is up to date. I’m on DirectX 11, and CPU usage is at 1% without ACEO running, so it’s probably not background stuff. Smaller resolution didn’t fix it either.
It’s a very strange issue… like I said, totally empty map, runs perfectly fine, but one large (totally empty) terminal building kills the FPS.
The Devs said their going to work on rendering the game better so the issue is not how good your hardware is but it’s how the game renders certain things like movement.
Indeed - I experience lag as well.
And it does seem too be linked to the terminal.
But the game has only been out for 3 days, so I am sure the devs will improve it when they get a chance.
