Oh thats nice
Sorry to wille if i sounded a bit unfriendly
It´s fine. I have a screenshot but I can`t upload it.
It will be less than $20 and by that we donât mean $19,99 or $18,99. We didnât feel comfortable to announce a price point in conjunction with lengthening the release window and we will refrain from that until we have a stable build!
So if by less than $20, they donât mean $19.99 or $18.99, then logically they mean $17.99. haha just kidding. Thanks devs for all you are doing! Canât wait to play.
In my eyes thatâs really cheap! Even for an ea game.
Since they said not 19.99 $, it is obviously 19.98
Edit: Or maybe 19.97$
I think the devs are gonna go with $15.99 or $14.99
Itâs easy. I guessed the internal release date absolutely right, so obviously I am also right with my 14.99⏠($ 17.99) EA-release price. Topic can be closed.
Hahahah. You wish. I hope the devs make it 14.98⏠so I can tease you about it.
Or the devs are gonna prove us all wrong, not try to trick people with a .99 or .98 price, and go with $15
I wish they do I hate the .99 .98 .95 itâs just annoying
Yeah, it originated to lower the bartering range (like instead of negotiating in pounds youâd be negotiating in pennies) but now itâs to make your brain round it sort of subconsciously which means there is probably no point in using it to sell indie games. However steam have some sort of policy to make the pennies a weird number⌠like even when theyâre on sale for 50% off theyâll still round it to the nearest 99p.
I think there is some evidence that people still perceive ÂŁx.99 as being significantly cheaper than ÂŁx+1, and that sales at these trivially lower price points are disproportionally higher as a result.
Yeah, that is marking psychology 101.
It is true. And if youâre in the US, it gets even worse because they didnât even include the taxes.
Oh and fun fact, if you cross the price (in the tag) and put an even higher price, people might not notice and still feel theyâre getting a discount.
Yeah, it is easier for retailers that have multiple stores in the US to have one set price because even stores a few miles apart might be in 2 different tax zones and the sales tax rate is completely different.
Steam has a fixed price staircase model which sets prices for all currencies at different levels, all those prices are using the .99 strategy. So to follow Steams recommendation we will use their model.
Oh ok, so its not the developers of games doing that, its steam, good to know.
How come some games like factorio go for exactly ÂŁ15?
