It is not always to create the shortest paths or the most efficient layout without intersections of some sort. In real life luggage conveyors can stack several stories over and under and well, I’ve really been missing this feature.
Why it should be implemented:
Because in Real life they go over, under and intersect at airports all the time.
Shorter paths to and from cargo handling
Better paths (=faster) cargo handling.
Sometimes it’s a real headache to plan cargo handling so they don’t intersect at some point or another.
But conveyor intersections won’t come in this way. Dev’s plan to introduce multiple terminal floors (it’s already in the race for number one) instead which will make these intersections obsolete.
