I logged a bug earlier today, number ACEO-34116, regarding Contractors who fininshed their building task frozen in place. After a save/load, they started moving again, but there were a group in the middle of the map just walking round in circles.
Subsequent to the bug report, I noticed another set of contractors approaching the work site, so observed them. They finished their building work, then froze in place again.
The group in the middle also stopped moving, and also the previous group had made it back to the materials site and were heading back to the work site - these too had frozen.
This time, I tried a save/quit/start/load, but the Steam client crashed when I started ACEO again. A shutdown/startup was then performed, ACEO started, and the game save reloaded.
Everything with the contractors is OK again now, so the bug has been cleared, but you may need to have a look at the report just in case there’s an issue that needs fixing?
I have a similar issue. Contractors are frozen and then became invisible. Pathfinding inspection shows contractors cannot find any paths. Saving and reloading returned them momentarily but frozen again. Also dismissing and rehiring makes no difference. Logged.
Having a similar but different issue with contractors since the latest Beta mini update. Mine is that my contractors have hundreds of tasks queued even though there is only one (bulldozing of Emergency Response Station) and a ton of construction supplies that the contractors are just stuck at. Looks like a party with boxes at the delivery site, yet they don’t do anything further except occasionally move from one box to another. Pathfinding reveals that they can absolutely get to this area to remove the station as well. If I let the game run an additional 20 game minutes, the station eventually gets removed and the box party at the delivery site continues for hours afterwards, with 317 objects still to be built even though there aren’t.
Have you ensure that these contractors have an easy way to go about the airport? Are they positioned far away from the construction site? Have you built fences so that they need to walk around the entire airport?
In my case this is definitely not the issue. I have also relocated the drop-offs right next to the building to check that. If I do pathfinding between any two spots (for contractors) it shows no result and the pathfinding dialogue hangs (cannot be dismissed). This includes for a path 2 tiles apart in the same room. Nothing I do seems to be able to restart construction - and although all my contractors are deployed they are all invisible (you can see some boxes getting picked up and put down again)
