As can be seen in the image, the contract closed before it’s expiration date (5 days, 12 hours). It closed even before reaching the Sales Bonus amount of $4600. Definately a bug
it sounds more like a change of shift 
new staff arriving at their airport are likely on their way to the shop.
tho i agree, staff leaving before the new staff arrives sucks a bit
I have this bug too with a shop.
If its reach the sales, the contract ends.
