Two passengers in the terminal are to get on the same flight. They walked into each other, and neither will move out of the way. This situation prevented either from boarding. Therefore, the plan is still at the gate many ours after it should have left. That plane prevented other scheduled planes from using the gate.
F10 and then clear passenger nodes or similar should help for the moment
What I finally did was just reload a previous save.
