Baggage drop of + self check-in desk problem

Hi all. I would like to ask you for help. Tried to place self check-in desks for the first time in this game with the baggage drop off and for some reason I cant make it work.

I cant click on the self check-in desk and activate it and the baggage drop off tels me that I cant activate it without self check-in kiosk nearby. I’m really lost on this one. I bet I missed something small and stupid but I cant figure out what. Thank you for help.

Seems like it’s been soft locked, must be some issue with the mechanism for updating the kiosk’s status… does it persist after a save and load?

I always put them in front of the drop point. think about how they are in actual terminals, you don’t find the check in kiosks right next to the baggage drop. You also don’t see those drop offs immediately go into a shoot like you’ve done. You want pax moving as close to forward as possible at all times. In this case, they’d have to turn around when there will be a pile of people behind them. if they move out forward to the drop point, then forward to security, it flows smoother. imho.

Somenone on steam forums gave me advice: “Yeah, had this too. Delete one Check In and build it again. Should work then. Because both Check In and Baggage Drop are disabled it doesn’t work”

There is small bug in the game when you place more sefl check-ins and one baggage drop off. The correct procedure is 1)place drop off (only 1); 2)connect it to your baggage system; 3) place the self check-in desk.

In my opinion, the game should be way less restrictive about building and enabling stuff based on an assumption that it will not work.
Let me enable the item and if you (aka the game) think it doesn’t work than show a message. but please still let me enable it.
Same for building stuff in regions where I “can’t”. Why do I have to zone the restroom first before I can place a toilet, but then have to wait for everything to be built to enable the room?. Unnecessary added workload for me and unnecessary complicated.

I guess that maybe the “trigger” to check the object and room state is the code is easier to be implemented, but there is a buttload of bugs with the current implementation for various objects anyway, so I would really like to see it simplified for the user, and potentially redesigned in code

Nah, the order has never mattered and I’ve done plenty. I really thin, it’s the location and then the drop down baggage elevator that’s the worthier thing.

In general I agree with you, however the reality is that when you don’t enforce certain rules you get loads of bug reports. Restrictions are great to have for new players but less fun for experienced players but that’s just the nature of game design.

I started to play this game again few days back and I have encoutered few weird issues very quickly and not including this self check-in and baggage drop off. When I moved boarding desk (when everything was connected) I broke remote plane stand completely. When I copied my bathroom combo (1+1) room even when I wanted to copy the whole room (x2) I have to zone the bathroom firest approximately in that area. Then I can plop my template after that I wait for constructors to build it then I remove the room and create 2 specific bathrooms for males and females. It is just too difficult without a reason and the boarding desk issue I have already reported.
