Can we have multiple baggage claim belts for multiple flights that arrive? Also I noticed the fuel trucks with their blinking yellow lights and I was wondering if the baggage claim belts could get those blinking lights to notify passengers that the baggage for that particular flight that arrived and is about to reach the baggage claim. I saw in the video some passengers were sitting in areas outside of the baggage claim. Could we also get a window of which baggage claim for which flight is active or “still unloading from flight ####.”
Devs have already said that this is implemented apparently
Do you mean like having some bags from Delta flight 332 go to belt 5 and the rest go to belt 6?
No, lets say: Flight 456 arrives. A few minutes later flight 876 arrives at the nearby gate. Baggage is off-loaded from both planes. In the last video I think I saw 1 baggage claim belt. Can we have multiple baggage claim belts (perhaps 1 per gate) and to alert passengers who just embarked; the baggage claim belt has lights that flash to signal the luggage is about to go thru the belt (for pickup).
Last time I was at a airport; a strobe light would be activated to let passengers know the baggage was entering the baggage claim. There were also monitors that showed which baggage claim belt was using which arrived flight. The screen said something like this:
Baggage Claim A: Flight 456
Baggage Claim B: Flight 876
One per gate may be a bit excessive. Most airport have far fewer than this and manage just fine. But I’d generally agree that each flight should be able to have a separate reclaim.
In a previous devlog the deva have stated that baggage belts has a sorting tile which can be set by the player to divert bags based on destination so would be possible to have multiple carousels for recovery and multiple drop off stations!
I wonder if the test airport used in the video was more designed to handle smaller flights. But due to devs showing the bigger flight, the airport just couldn’t handle the numbers. Meaning the test airport just wasn’t ready for that kind of traffic which caused the turnaround time to be high.
Or I just was too tired while watching the video and missed some stuff. Lol
Maybe, but 2 hours to board 119 people is too long. Had enough employees at the gate for a flight that size, 30 to 45 minutes is plenty to board that flight.
On my flight to Turks and Caicos, it took only 12 minutes to board a JetBlue A320 with 142 passengers. It was supposed to be 10:15 to 10:35 boarding but we showed up at 10:26 and we were almost the last to board.
I would say a flight with 119 passengers would take 10-20 minutes to board depending on staff experience.
On Mumbai an Hong Kong airport, each belt has almost 3-5 (even 6 sometimes) plane baggage.
Though they are not sent together, one after other. But ussualt they end up mixed up.
In Orlando, airlines own baggage belts. Where at least you know where your baggage will be, there may be an empty belt right next to you because that airline is not operating in MCO currently. What I saw at MCO:
Belt 9: JB1533, JB1754, JB464, JB897, JB2130, JB1117
Belt 10: AC1045
I’ve had a similar experience in Turkey, ramp agents apparently thought it was a good idea to put like 4 planes on one belt on the exact same time… Yeah great idea…
It ended up with the belt getting jammed and the area was so packed full of people
good idea for the game
True. My example was based on two incoming flights for arrival but when the airport grows and lets say about 20 flights incoming for arrive, I would say that the baggage claim belts would have multiple flights and if there were 20 flights arriving for the day, I would assume that there would be more than 2 baggage claim belts.
I’m wondering I’m guessing by reading a few comments; but I missed it if the devs talked about it; the game would assign baggage belts for the arriving flights?
Last time I was at JFK Airport coming back from Aruba, when we arrived; we walked to the baggage claim and if I remember correctly; there was Baggage Claim A Baggage Claim B, Baggage Claim C and Baggage Claim D; each with its own belt and there was a monitor next to each Baggage claim which would say which arriving flight was using that particular baggage claim. When the offloading of luggage from the plane was done, the red light would blink several times and the belt was activated. About 2 minutes later; we would see the luggage on the belt. Always loved that time lol…wondering if my luggage was lost
In Barcelona, the baggage reclaim area has if i recall correctly 16 belts and then another one for special baggage. It also has screens detailing which flights will come out of each belt and if its currently processing a flights baggage. Something to think of as well is that, a lot of times there is no centralized delivery of baggage, a lot of times each belt has its own separate input. And there is obviously information counters for each airline in case your bags go missing or to take care of unclaimed baggage.
Exactly my point or instead of information counters, monitors similar to showing arrivals and a monitor showing departures
