When I’m building stairs and escalators I have trouble with the direction of the stairway is going. Maybe it’s just me, but I would like to see a direction arrow or something to show which way is up (or down).
The stairs go both ways. But I see your problem here, it would be nice to see where the bottom part is and where the top.

Yea, that is what I meant. Probably I didn’t write it down completely right.

The wider part is the floor you’re on. The smaller part is the other floor. After placing, on the higher floor you’ll see a shadow pn the downstairs part.
The request for some markers sounds reasonable to me. I hope a dev walks in this thread to talk about it’s possibility.

same should apply to escalators

And that requires zooming in to see which is which, similarly like it was with conveyor belt elevators. The proposed arrows would be noticeable from far away.
