Let the game pause itself when the game is saving or loading so the act is less intensive for your machine.
It is paused. Saving and especially loading are very, very intensive processes for any game engine and when you have a large airport you could possible have hundreds of thousands of individual objects that we must save a lot of data about. Where are they located? Are they built? How dirt are they? What are their names? What flight are they going to?
Aha, then please keep the game paused after loading is compleet ;).
